Debra A. Harkins
Debra founded Leading Change Associates in 2007 to share her expertise in academic and business leadership development with organizations in the Greater Boston Area. A seasoned administrator, she has held management positions in academia and worked as a consultant in profit and nonprofit organizations. Besides Leading Change Associates, Debra founded sister company Purple Owl Publishing in 2019 to share stories that amplify diverse experiences.
Debra holds a PhD from Clark University and is a professor of psychology at Suffolk University and a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts. Debra is a Certified Executive Coach with professional training and experience in course development, curriculum and program development, program assessment and evaluation, building hybrid online courses, organizational development, inclusivity training, restorative justice, and publishing.
Carmen joined Leading Change Associates in 2019 as a consultant committed to educational access, equity, and social justice. Carmen’s research, writing, teaching, and community service work focus on issues of race, ethnicity, and language usage regarding youth, schools, and community.
Carmen has served as an administrator in higher education and on boards of trustees in nonprofit settings. Her work centers participatory processes that involve multiple stakeholders.
Drawing from her experience as an administrator, Carmen is keen on implementing efficiency improvement measures across core organizational functions, cultural competencies, and advocacy work. Carmen is fluent in Spanish.
